A SPECIAL DOUBLE-A-SIDE SUMMER SINGLE

SEASIDE
One fine day in 1930 we happened to stumble across Benny Selvin & His Orchestra as they rehearsed for the opening night of their summer season at the Winter Gardens, Bexhill-on-Sea. After several swift G&Ts, we inadvertently found ourselves joining them round the organ for a quick rendition of 'Seaside'. Luckily someone happened to record the event.

MAD DOGS
In 1932 Noel Coward invited us to a little soiree he was giving at his off-season residence on the French Riviera. The weather was absolutely scorching and after cooling ourselves with a few too many Pimms, we gave an impromptu performance of this at the poolside surrounded by a bizarre mix of beauty queens, queens, has-beens, wannabes and tutu-wearing monkeys.
